New devices will blur the lines between netbooks and tablet

Intel is speculating that next generation devices will blur the lines between netbooks and tablets soon. Intel Atom chips are currently in use in netbooks with 10 inch screens and Windows tablets, but Fudzilla writes that they may also show up in convertible netbooks with touchscreen displays that can be folded down over the keyboard, or tablets devices with slide-out keyboards. Of course, as pictured above, Samsung introduced a model with a slide-out keyboard earlier this year, so the concept is not new.

Acer planning to build Nvidia Tegra powered laptop

According to DigiTimes Acer is planning to build an interesting new laptop powered by a 1ghz Nvidia Tegra 2 Dual core processor. According to theDigiTimes report, the new laptop could hit the market soon and it will likely run Google Android since Windows 7 can’t run on devices with ARM-based processors.

Epson Endeavor dual core netbook comes to Japan

Epson hasn’t really gained a foothold in the UK netbook market, but they’ve had a few models in Japan over the past few years. And, there’s more to come. The company has announced a new 10 inch netbook with a 1.5 GHz Intel Atom N550 dual core processor called the Epson Endeavor Na04mini. Like most netbooks, it has a10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, 1GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive. You can also choose a 64GB SSD option instead of a hard drive.

[Video] Acer shows off a convertible netbook/tablet

Acer showed off a mockup of an upcoming convertible Windows tablet at CES. IThe keyboard, when you’re not using it, doesn’t slide-out, or swivel out of the way as we’ve seen in other designs, instead, Laptop Magazine reports that this it detaches completely.
