The Samsung Sliding PC 7 Series is a 10 inch Windows 7 tablet, but unusually for a tablet is has a slide-out keyboard that tucks away behind the screen, allowing you to use the tablet more like a netbook. In the US, Amazon.com is taking pre-orders for $649.

Liquidware is selling a kit to build a “Beagle Tablet,” which is based on a ‘BeagleBoard’ containting a 1GHz processor and a 4.3 inch OLED touchscreen display. You also get a 4G SD card with Angstrom Linux pre-installed, but you can always switch that to Google Android or many other Linux-based operating system.

Asus CEO ‘Netbooks will outsell Tablets’

ASUS CEO Jerry Shen sure is making the rounds this week talking up the company’s upcoming entry into the tablet arena, the upcoming Asus Eee Pad tablet. Before we got details about the upcoming Asus Tablet, however, he clarified that he doesn’t anticipate tablet sales surpassing that of netbooks. The latter category is for personal computing while tablets are based on consuming content and Cloud computing.

We may see the Asus Eee Pad Tablet by this July

Tablet Reviews UK reports on the latest news on the anticipated tablet from Asus, appropriately to be called the Eee Pad. You may remember that Asus has been working on a Google Android tablet for some time now, and we were shown a prototype in January at CES. Now DigiTimes is reporting that the tablet will be on display at the Computex trade show in June, with a possible launch date as soon as late July.
