Sony launched the Vaio YB earlier this year with the 1.6 GHz AMD E-350 chip and Radeon HD 6250 graphics. Today, Sony’s 11.6 inch notebook, it looks like it now packs a little more power.

Sony is preparing to launch its first Android tablet and there’s good news for us in tjhe UK. The folks at This is My Next found some leaked documents suggesting that Sony Centre stores in the UK will start taking pre-orders for the Sony S1 tablet on September 1.

We know that the likes of Acer and Asus are working on new Chrome OS netbooks – any most recently even Archos may have gotten into the game. Now, however, Sony Insider reports that Sony is possibly building a 11.6 inch netbook to run Google’s upcomign web browser-based operating system.

Sony’s new Vaio YB is a portable laptop fitting somewhere between the Sony Vaio W 10 inch netbook and the company’s more ambitious (and expensive) products such as the Vaio P 8.9 inch ultraportable.

Sony’s new netbook has the new AMD Fusion APU . The new Sony YB series packs AMD’s 1.6Ghz E-350, Radeon HD 6310 graphics, 4GB of memory, a 500GB hard drive, HDMI output, 802.11 b/g/n wireless, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR+, 3 USB ports, and a backlit keyboard.
