Pixel Qi founder Mary Lou Jepsen says that you’ll be able to pick your very own Pixel Qi Screen by this summer, in the form of a DIY Kit. What makes the Pixel Qi screen special is that it combines the benefits of the low power, high contract e-ink dispalys found in many ebook readers, and the full colour displays currently in netbooks. [Video] Jolicloud OS Allows 1080p HD Video without Broadcom

There’s been an interesting development with Jolicloud netbook operating system today. Namely, it’s been reported that full 1080p HD video will be supported under the OS with just the new N450 Intel Atom ‘Pinetrail’ processor. That’s right, no Broadcom HD accelerator, or Nvidia Ion required. Support, of course, is not just limited to the N450 but also the faster N470 processors. Both share the GMA 3150 graphics processor, but if you have an older N270 or N280 Atom with GMA500 you’re out of luck.
