Samsung has 2 very similiar netbooks out currently, the Samsung N130 and N140. Both the N130 and N140 have been hailed as successors to the popular Samsung NC10, but what exactly are the differences between the two you might ask?

Well, the most obvious is the price difference – the cheapest N140 currently comes in at £283.36 while the best price for the N130 is just £229.99. so, what does the extra 50 quid buy you?

- Battery life, the N140′s 5900 mAh battery is rated for 9 hours, while the N130 tops out at a still respectable 6 hours.
- Stereo sound. The N130 has to make do with 1 speakers, while the N140 gets the usual two for glorious stereo netbook sound.

And that’s about it. The N130 and N140 share the same touchpad, keyboard and ostensibly have the same screen and ports. Hardware wise, they share the same standard netbook underpinnings we’re all more familiar with (Atom N270 1.6GHz Processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD).

So if you’re after a pretty standard, but well built and utterly competent netbook from a tried and tested manufacturer, you could certainly do a lot worse than either the Samsung N130 or N140.

The Samung N130 is available with free shipping for £229.99 with free shipping and the N140 is £283.36, also with free shipping.

The results in this 3dMark benchmark test are suprising, the HP Mini 311 actually beats the Eee PC 1201N in two out three tests, despite having one less processor core than the Asus Eee PC 1201N. It’s possible that this test is not suited to testing the extra processor capability of the 1201N, so we hope they’ll run some more processor based benchmarks soon.

The ASUS Eee PC 1101HA Seashell and the ASUS Eee PC 1005HA are two of the hottest netbooks on the market right now, but it can be hard to differentiate between the two. On paper, their differences are mainly the 1005HA’s 10″ standard screen and resolution compared to the 1366 x 768 pixel 11.6″ display on the Eee PC 1101HA Seashell. Another major difference is the processor – the EeePC 1005HA gets the Atom N280, while the 1101HA has to make do with a slower Atom Menlow processor running at 1.33ghz.

Pricewise, the 1005HA comes out slightly ahead at £299.98 vs. £369.93 for the 1101HA.

Other than those differences, however, it can be hard to choose between the two. Above, and after the break, we have a series of pictures that should give you a pretty good look at how the two stack up aesthetically – in terms of thin-ness, port and key placement, and all of those other important physical features we seek out in our netbooks.

Read past the break for more comparison pics.
