NEC shows off new, super slim, 7″ MGX netbook

Just when you though innovation in the netbook field has stalled, Japanese computer maker NEC brings a new, innovative thin and light netbook powered by Google Android to the market. The folks at PC Watch got a chance to check out an early prototype, called the NEC MGX, which measures just 9.9mm thick. That’s thinner than many Android tablets!

NEC gets into the netbook game with the dual core BL550

We haven’t seen many netbooks from NEC, but now they’re the latest to get into the trend of dual core Atom action. The company has just introduced a new netbook in Japan with a 1.5GHz Intel Atom N550 dual core CPU, 2GB of memory and a 320GB hard drive. It’s called teh NEC LaVie Light BL550 netbook and sports a very typical netbook 10.1 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel HD display and runs Windows 7 Home Premium.
