We had the AMD powered AMD LT3100 about a week ago, and now there's another AMD powered netbook hitting the market, the Akoya Mini E1312. The Medion netbook uses a low-power AMD Sempron 210U processor and ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 graphics instead of the usual Intel Atom combo. Further to the AMD processor you get a 16:9 11.6-inch display, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, HDMI out, and a six-cell or nine-cell battery.

*UPDATE: We have a hands on video and hands on impressions after the break.

We had the AMD powered AMD LT3100 about a week ago, and now there’s another AMD powered netbook hitting the market, the Akoya Mini E1312. The Medion netbook uses a low-power AMD Sempron 210U processor and ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 graphics instead of the usual Intel Atom combo. Further to the AMD processor you get a 16:9 11.6-inch display, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth,HDMI out, and a six-cell or nine-cell battery and an Expresscard /34 Slot.

Starting July 12th, you’ll be able to pick up the E1312 exclusively at Aldi stores here in the UK for £339.99. We’ll post a hands on and more info as soon as we get one, or find the info.

First Impressions:

- Graphics performance wise it seems to do better than everything but Ion based systems.
- Max battery life was 4 hours with the 6-cell battery (lowest brightness, ECO mode on). 2 hours behind the Acer Aspire One 751. The 9 cell battery option should be able to do a bit better.
- 1080P HD seems to play jerkily, though it’s not clear how they tried to play the video. If it doesn’t play well, it would almost render the HDMI out useless.
