When Intel launched it’s new dual core Atom N550 netbook processor earlier this month, there was talk that they would restrict it’s sale only to be used in netbooks with screen sizes of 10″ or smaller. That seemed strange since we heard there was going to be a version of the ASUS Eee PC 1215N with the processor and today Digitimes reports that Intel has lifted the restriction. That means that dual core processors will be allowed in 11-inch and 12-inch notebooks. So, the Intel recommended mandated specs for the Atom N550 powered notebooks will be 1GB DDR3 RAM, a 32GB SSD or 250GB HDD.
