Computex 2009 in Taipei may be over and done with for another year, but the netbooks on display at the show are still coming to light. Here is one of those, the J&W Minix 811.

There aren’t many surprises here when it comes to the specs, this one does seem to be thinner and lighter than the average netbook and, even better still, it has both a matte screen and fairly large and apparently responsive keyboard.

NVidia’s Tegra platform is looking to be one of the most exciting developments to come out of Tapei’s Computex this year. Here, on video, Gordon Grigor, NVidia’s Director of Mobile Software shows off a device running their Tegra platform streaming a 720p MSN HD trailer off the web (over WiFi) then switches over to Firefox show off Flash in full screen on Flash Earth. There are two version, the Tegra 600 can do H.264 video at 720p while the Tegra 650 can decode 1080p

For Smartbooks applications using Tegra, we are looking at 256MB – 1GB RAM configurations, with 512MB probably being the most common to keep prices low – projected to be within $150-200 dollars. That means no huge Firefox missions with 20-30 tabs open, more like 3-4 tabs ont the 512mb versions.

OS wise, no Windows XP, Vista or 7 here – it’s Windows CE or Google Android. Dual boot should be possible.

Battery life is another plus – small, light 3 cell batteries should afford you about 8 hours.

So, sit back and enjoy this great demo and interview, it’s worth a watch as Grigor explains the benefit of their Atom-smashing GPU not just for video, but also web browsing.

The 11.6 inch netbook has been rumoured for a while now, and it looks like it will make its debut at Computex 2009 in the form o f the Asus Eee PC 1101HA. The show doesn’t actually start until tomorrow, but those clever folks at Engadget managed to get the shot above from their booth. With this limited information, all we know is that that the 1101HA will have a 11.6 LCD screen with higher than average 1366 x 768 resolution, an 11 hour battery, and Intel’s Atom Z520 / Z530 CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, three USB 2.0 sockets, a multicard reader. Styling wise, the case seems to take cues from Asus’s Seashell line of late – like the Asus 1008HA that can already be had here in the UK for £379.50.

Stay tuned tomorrow for news about this new netbook, and a roundup of all the Computex 2009 news.

- The first ARM powered netbooks will be shown as well as systems running on Qualcom’s Snapdragon platform. These netbooks won’t be as powerful as Intel’s solution, but surely more power efficient and affordable.

- At the other end of the spectrum, Nvidia will finally be showing off its Ion platform, which pairs Intel Atom with GeForc 9400M graphics, in netbooks. The Lenovo S12 is the first notebook to be powered by the platform and will be on display.

- Intel will be officially showing off its new ULV platform which is destined for notebooks like MSI’s X340, that are ultraportable and ultrathin. We have our fingers crossed that there are product announcements from Taiwanese notebook manufacturers that coincide with the new processors being available.

- We look forward to checking out some new software which we expect to be focused on the Cloud. We are expecting to see a few netbooks running Google’s Android and other new Linux environments that are tailored to netbooks.

- At this year’s Computex 2009, ECS will introduce 3 new netbooks in the form of the ECS T10IL, ECS V10IL and ECS T21IL.

- Nvidia will be showing off the first netbooks that run on the Tegra platform at the Computex show, which kicks off on Tuesday in Taiwan. The Tegra platform is different to ION in that it pairs an ARM-based processor with an Nvidia 9400m
