Toshiba nb550d netbook benchmarked

Toshiba’s NB550D netbook is the first 10 inch to ship with the AMD C-50 Fusion chip containing  integrated Radeon HD 6250 graphics.  The chip is capable of 1080p HD video playback and DirectX 11 graphics, but what we don’t know is how the  1 GHz dual core chip fare against the Intel Atom chips.  Netbook News picked up a unit in Taiwan and today the site published some of the first benchmarks.

Here’s a quick summary:

  • Total power consumption (TDW) of the AMD C-50 is 8W   The Intel Atom N550 uses slightly more @ 8.5w.
  • 1889 in 3DMark06.
  • In the CrystalMark benchmark, the NB550D scored a little higher than an Acer netbook with an Intel Atom N550 chip
  • 3D video games (including Crysis) played smoothly.
