First hands-on with the Samsung NF210
UPDATE: Samsung’s NF210 netbook is now available at Amazon for £317.67
We first heard about the upcoming Samsung NF series netbooks yesterday, and already we have our first hands-on. Liliputing took a look at the Samsung NF210. You’ll remember the NF210 slots in right between the low-end NF110 and the slightly more expensive NF310. Brad mentions that initially, the NF210 will be exclusive to Sam’s Club (think Walmart, but bigger) in the States, where it will be priced at $379.99.
The Samsung NF210 has a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 processor, a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, and a pretty funky curved design. See more pictures after the break. There’s a recessed keyboard situated between two fins. Samsung added a thin lip to the top of the display, which makes it much easier to grab and open the lid when the laptop is closed. The touchpad is perfectly level with the palm rest area around it, but does have a textured surface soyou can easily detect the edges of the touch area.
Samsung is shipping the NF210 with a 6 cell, 8850mAh battery which the company says should provide up to 14 hours of run time.
Samsung will also launch the NF310 netbook in the US which adds a metallic finish and the now famous dual core Intel Atom N550 processor. There’s also a high-res 1366 x 768 pixel display. Pricing should be around $429 or less. Unlike the NF210, the NF310 will be available through a variety of retailers.
