Acer Chrome OS netbook specs reavealed
Ok, it’s not late May, early June as we thought earlier, but now there’s more definite news that Acer is working on a netbook that will run Google’s Chrome OS. The sleuths at Macles spotted a few details and posted them.
Check out the full details at Macles, but basically someone has been filing some Linux and Google Chrome bug reports related to a previously unannounced Acer laptop. From the reports, it can be determined that the hardware for the upcoming Chrome OS netbook will be:
- 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 CPU
- 1GB of memory
- 8GB SanDisk pSSD (solid state disk)
- Ambient light sensor
- WiFi, Bluetooth wireless connectivity
There’s still no word on the pricing or release date, but Macles suspects we could see a release pretty soon, based on the progress of the reports.
