Now that the ASUS Eee PC 1201PN is selling in the States, you can expect the reviews to follow like this one from LaptopMag.

As we saw in my hands on video with the 1201PN – the 1201PN chassis still has the old design seen on previous 12-inch ASUS notebooks so that means an all gloss chassis with a dimpled trackpad instead of a soft touch matte chassis and a much larger chrome lined trackpad.

It’s interesting to note that overall performance is less on this new 1201PN vs the older 1201N despite having next generation ION graphics (graphics performance is improved over the first generation though). You can blame that on the “downgrade” to a single core Atom N450 processor instead of a desktop dual core Atom 330 processor. The upside is 40 extra minutes on the 1201PN – 4.5 hours on this vs just under 4 hours on the 1201N.
