Lenovo Thinkpad X100E WiMax

We found the Lenovo Thinkpad X100E to be quite a capable netbook in our March review thanks to its 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, full sized keyboard, and faster AMD processor.  And it looks like it’s going to get even better soon.  According to this FCC filing in the states (uncovered by Wireless Goodness) the X100E is about to get a 4G WiMAX option.

The documents state that the new model will have an Intel wireless card that can handle WiFi, Bluetooth, and WiMAX wireless connectivity.  There’s a good chance the  ThinkPad Mini 10 and Thinkpad Mini 11 will get the option too. You’ll remember that those two models were recently spotted in an Aussie school.  They look identical to the X100E, save for a 10″ screen instead of the 11.6″ inches on the X100E.
