Intel’s Dual Core Atom N550 Chip Coming this Year
Almost exactly a month ago we speculated on rumours of a new Intel Atom Dual Core processor for netbooks and now Fudzilla reports that the new chip will be called the Atom N550. Reportedly, the Atom N550 will reportedly have a clock speed of 1.5GHz, 1MB of L2 cache, and two cores with support for hyperthreading.
Fudzilla says the TDP (or power consumption in laymans terms) will be 8.5 watts, which includes the CPU and integrated graphics and memory controller -that’s only a little more than the usage for the Intel Atom N450 and N470 single core chips .
The new chips will reportedly hit the streets in the third quarter of 2010.
