We may see the Asus Eee Pad Tablet by this July
Tablet Reviews UK reports on the latest news on the anticipated tablet from Asus, appropriately to be called the Eee Pad. You may remember that Asus has been working on a Google Android tablet for some time now, and we were shown a prototype in January at CES. Now DigiTimes is reporting that the tablet will be on display at the Computex trade show in June, with a possible launch date as soon as late July.
The Asus Eee Pad is expected to be powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra chipset, which features a low power ARM-based processor and a graphics core capable of handling HD video and 3D graphics as well as Adobe Flash. Unlike certain other tablets (cough, iPad) the Eee Pad will almost certainly have at least one USB port for connecting peripherals and an integrated webcam. According to DigiTimes, the tablet could run about $480 to $510.
