Review Asus Eee PC 1201T

The Eee PC 1201T another iteration of the Asus Eee PC 1201-series of laptops – as their name indicates, they all share the same 12.1 inch, 1366  x 768 pixel display, chassis and keyboard. The biggest difference between this, the  1201T, is that is uses an AMD NEO MV-40 processor bundled with the ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics, while the  Eee PC 1201N, 1201HA, and 1201NL all have Intel Atom processors.

Yugatech have posted a review of this netbook and have found some pretty interesting results.  Most notable perhaps the sluggish performance of the AMD and ATI combo, combined with poor battery life.  The 1201T  scored 3.1 on the Windows Experience Index (with the graphics notching the lowest score and the CPU weighing in at 3.2).  By comparison, the Eee PC 1201N  scored a total index of 3.3, with a 4.3 graphics score, but a 3.3 for the CPU.  Now, that might be acceptable if the cpu and graphics chips were very power efficient, but the 4400mAh battery only lasted 2.5 hours in their testing.

Yugatech reports that the Eee PC 1201T sells for about 21,900 Philippine pesos ($471 US) in the Philippines.
