Liliputing managed to track down one of Dell’s updated Inspiron Mini 10 netbooks at CES 2010 today.  Despite having the same name, they report that Dell has given the Mini 10 a significant overhaul.  Of course, it the new 1.66GHz Intel Atom Pine Trail CPU, but there’s also a revised keyboard.  The touchpad has also been retooled a bit, but unfortunately it seems to be a bit smaller than the predecessor.

Upgrades to RAM, hard drives or 3rd party cards is made difficult by the lack of access panels on the bottom of this netbook, but the look and feel of the Inspiron Mini 10 did impress overall.

The Dell Mini 10 with the Pinetrail processor is available starting at £177 directly from Dell UK.

  • Just to correct an inaccuracy. The old Mini 10v starts at £199. Dell don’t make this easy to find though. It used to be an option on the main mini 10 page but now you have to type something like “ubuntu mini 10″ into the search box. For that term it comes up first but states the wrong OS until you click customise and buy.

Thanks for the cool site. I’m looking forward to ARM based netbook reviews (preferably cheaper ones than the Lenovo skylight).
