Asus Eee PC 1005PE

Brad, from Liliputing, has the new Eee PC 1005PE from Asus.  It’s the first Asus netbook with the upcoming  1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 Pine Trail processor and should be available for purchase sometime in January.  As we found in the case of the Samsung N220 which is basically a Samsung N140 with Pinetrail specs, this Asus 1005PE is vary similar to the current bestselling Asus Eee PC 1005HA.  There is, however, one cosmetic differences, which is the switch to a chiclet keyboard.

Inside, this new netbook has Intel’s new N450 Pinetrail processor with integrated Intel GMA 3150 graphics.  The combo promises to use less power than the outgoing N280 Atom chip, and we’ve seen reports that runtimes of 10 hours should be possible with a 6 cell 63 Whr battery.
