Netbooked has put up their review of the Asus Eee PC 1005HR.  There is a lot of praise for this tweaked netbook with statements like:

The ASUS Eee PC 1005HR is one of the best looking, all-round performing netbooks on the market currently and one of the very few with a 1366 x 768 display. Super bright display, 7 hour battery life, excellent keyboard and multi-touch capable touchpad.

However, I keep seeing the limitations they also point out like no HD Youtube – actually no 1080p / 720p video at all.  Also, sluggish performance in Windows 7 due to the hi-res display and limited/no access to the internals for HD and other upgrades.  I like the idea of a hi-res display, but it seems to me this netbook is lacking the proper hardware to drive it – namely Nvidia Ion.  For my money, I’d rather go for the Ion powered Compay Mini 311c ( £329.99 )  or the more costly, but oh so lustful Samsung N510 (£428.94).

The Asus 1005HR is currently only available in Japan, but will probably make it to the UK early next year.  In the meantime, you can buy the non-hires screen version, the Asus Eee PC 1005HA, for £273.33 at Amazon UK.

Check out the video review after the break.
