Asus's new Eee PC 1005P

Sascha from Netbooknews has the scoop on two new netbooks coming out from Asus – the 1005P and 1005PE.  They look quite similiar to the current Eee PC 1001HA, except for a chiclet style keyboard instead of a regular tiled one and the new Pinetrail processors.  Both come with the new Intel Atom N450 processor but the 1005P has a matte display where the 1005PE has a glossy display.

ASUS Eee PC 1005P Specs:

• 10” 1024 x 600 display
• Atom N450 processor
• 1GB DDR2 RAM
• 160GB HDD
• VGA out, microphone, headphone jacks, 3x USB 2.0, Card reader
• 0.3MP webcam
• 10/100 LAN, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi

• 6-cell Li-ion battery (probably smaller than the PE model)

The higher end 1005PE s adds a larger (250gb vs. 160gb) hard drive, larger capacity 12.5 hour 6-cell battery and a glossy display.
