Samsung X120 Mini notebook available at Amazon UK for £478

Samsung has brought out a sharp looking little mini-notebook in the form of the X120.  It’s bigger, and more powerful than their pure netbook offerings offering a 11.6″ matte screen and a dual-core Intel Pentium SU4100 running at 1.30GHz with 2MB of L2 Cache.  Rounding out the specs is 3gb of RAM, Intel GMA 4500HD graphics and a 250gb hard drive.  The extra power this laptop has over the Atom netbooks is noticeable, and HD video is handled without a hitch.

Despite it’s impressive performance, the X120 is no brick and the 11.6-incher weights in at just 1.36kg (lighter than both the Acer Aspire 1410 and Lenovo IdeaPad U150).  The matte outside covering also impressed and the touchpad was large and responsive and generally easy to use, despite having its buttons on the side.  There was, however, one rather large downfall.  Battery life.  Trusted Reviews only managed to squeeze 2.5hrs of runtime out of the rather small 4000mAh, 29Wh battery.
