Sony introduces new Vaio X 11.1″ ultra-portable / netbook with ‘stamina’

Sony Vaio X announced at IFA 2009
Sony has introduced a new device called the Vaio X which will have a 11.1″ screen and have an emphasis on being thin. Like really thing, just .55 of an inch. Weight is also low, but not crazy low at 1.5 pounds. Details are still pretty scarce, but we know it will be powered either by an Intel Atom or CULV processor. If it’s the former, it will surely be tagged a netbook. Sony also promises a battery that “will set the new standard for stamina.”. We’re not sure if that means a breakthrough new technology, or just really good battery life.
The picture above is of the actual machine in the flesh, but we don’t know about pricing or availability yet. You can, however, check out the Sony promo video after the break.
