MSI will debut Intel’s new PineTrail-M platform this December

MSI will debut PineView / PineTrail this December
According to Digitimes MSI will be among the first of the netbook manufacturers to bring out a new device using Intel’s new PineTrail platform. While Intel has stated that devices using PineTrail wouldn’t be launched until 2010, it seems MSI may be trying to get the jump on others such as AsusTek and Acer who are also developing netbooks with the new Pineview processors.
Details of the upcoming netbook are still sparse – but early indications and speculation indicated it will run Microsoft’s new Windows 7 operating system and have touchscreen capabilities.
PineView? PineTrail? I hear you asking. What’s the difference? Well in short, PineTrail is Intel’s new netbook/nettop platform which takes the Atom 3 chip solution down to just 2. PineView will be the name of the actual processor within the Pinetrail platform.

Do not buy MSI — I would steer clear of anything made by MSI — We bought three laptops last Christmas and all have given us nothing but problems….. battery life is poor, it heats up very quickly, the hinges on the top keep coming away, well, I could go on and on and on — This has happened to all three laptops so AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!
