First look and hands-on with the new BenQ Joybook Lite U121 Eco 11.6″ Netbook

BenQ Joybook Lite 121 Eco
Lars, over at Netbooknews, has a scoop on a new 11.6″ netbook coming to the market from BenQ. The BenQ Joybook Lite 121 Eco 11.’6 is certainly a mouthful name-wise but luckily it lives up to its name performance-wise as well.
The Joybook Lite has ‘eco’ in it’s name due to the fact that’s it’s made form 25 percent recycled materials. It also has the ability to save power, and your precious battery life with its hybrid disk drive setup with the option of using both a spinning HDD and a solid state drive (SSD). The six cell battery, we should add, is integrated into the frame of the Joybook and is able to power the netbook for 7 hours after just a 1 hour charge (claimed) and potentially longer with a full charge.
Rounding out the specs is a 1168×768 HD display, optional 3g card, and and Atom Z520 processor along with the usual netbook amenities (full specs after the break). The Joybook lite is already available in China and is expected in Thailand and Taiwan shortly. It has Dollar and Euro sign keys next to the arrow keys on the keyboard, so we hope to see it here in the US and Europe soon as well (including the UK!). Although exact pricing and availability has yet to be announced, speculation is that it should cost arond 375 Euros, or about 325 pound sterling.
