Techcrunch’s Crunchpad on video – release date in July
::Update – The original ‘leaked’ video has been taken down. I’ve replaced it with this old one. Arrington responded to that video here, and said it wasn’t of the finished version. We await it eagerly.
So, it’s not technically a netbook but it does have an Intel Atom processor. We like the concept of the Crunchpad, but what will the execution be like? So far, it’s looking a little clunky, especially when comapared to Asus’s Seashell lineup.
The CrunchPad, is a ‘web tablet’ is due to release this July. The device is set to run a custom Linux / WebKit OS but we have yet to see that in action. In terms of construction, the device is plastic and somewhat chubby, not the 18mm-thick aluminum we’d heard earlier. It’s covered in fingerprints in this video.
