Intel Pineview processor roadmap leaked.

Earlier today we reported that it’s highly likey that we’ll see a new Intel Atom N270 called the Intel Atom N450 in Octbober and now it appears that a more comprehensive roadmap has been leaked from Intel.

According to the rumours and the leaked images,  Intel is planning three different chips as part of the Pineview family. There will be a single-core Atom N400 chip aimed at netbooks, and also a single core Atom D400 CPU for low power nettops.   There also appears to be a dual core version for nettops called the Atom D500.  All three chips will be paired with the Intel NM10 chipset.

The first chip expected to hit the streets will be the N450 aimed at netbooks. It will run at 1.66GHz, have 512KB of L2 cache, and support up to 2GB of RAM. The integrated graphics processor will get a speed bump from 133MHz to 200MHz, but it will include the GMA500 graphics processor instead of the GMA950 which is incorporated currently.

Maybe most importantly of all, the new chips are expected to use as little as half the power of today’s Atom processors  – 2 watts at idle for the new chips vs. the current 4 watts at idle for the N270.

There’s one more image comparing the current Intel Atom N270 and the Atom N45o after the break.
